Libraa Group
Freelance project: the company website for Libraa Group, a ship-management and marine-services firm, covering its services, 16-vessel fleet, clients and certifications. Live at libraa.com.

about
Built and shipped as a freelance project for Libraa Group, a ship-management, crew-management and marine-services company operating since 2009 from Chennai, Kakinada and Port Blair. One static page covers its seven service lines, a sixteen-vessel fleet slider, thirty-one clients from the Indian Navy and Adani Ports to Reliance and JSW, its offices and operating ports, certifications, leadership and careers. Every name, flag, certificate number and address on the page comes from the company's verified records. It is served from Cloudflare Pages at www.libraa.com, with the old site's pages that still appear in search redirected to the new one.

how it works
- 1
Content
Every vessel, flag, certificate number, client and office on the page comes from the company's verified records, not from copywriting.
- 2
Photos
A Python script encodes each photo to AVIF at several widths, choosing the lowest quality that keeps SSIM above a threshold, with a stricter one for photos of people. Each image loads at the width it is drawn; browsers without AVIF get the original.
- 3
Build
A Next.js static export: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, no server.
- 4
Hosting
Cloudflare Pages at www.libraa.com, with security headers, year-long caching for hashed build files and one-day caching for photos, which keep their names when replaced.
- 5
Verification
A Puppeteer script checks the built page before release: fleet slider behaviour, fonts, layout and screenshot sanity.
engineering notes
Previews before photos
Each fleet photo ships with a tiny blurred preview inlined in the page, so a slide that comes into view before its photo has downloaded shows the ship softly instead of an empty box.
Keeping old search results
Two pages of the company's previous site were still showing in Google, so they redirect permanently to the new page instead of landing on a 404.
A company, not a star sign
Search engines read "Libraa" as a misspelling of "Libra". Organization structured data now states the company, its address and contacts, so it is read as a business.
